Quality failures rarely come from just one place. They happen when internal processes are weak, when suppliers cannot meet the standard, or when the two are not aligned with each other.

I work with manufacturers and laboratories in aerospace, nuclear, and regulated laboratory environments to fix both sides of that problem — building quality management systems that function the way they were designed, and developing supplier bases that are qualified, compliant, and capable.

Before consulting, I spent over a decade leading quality and supplier development inside manufacturing and material-testing environments — at NovaBus, part of Volvo Corporation, Raufoss Neuman, Element. That experience includes designing and implementing an integrated quality management system that simultaneously satisfied aerospace accreditation, ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory accreditation, and provincial environmental ministry compliance requirements. It is where the cross-sector QMS architecture approach I bring to clients today was first built and tested.

It is also where I did the supplier-side work that most quality consultants only talk about. As Supplier Quality Development Coordinator, I assessed suppliers' quality management systems through structured process audits, verified the effectiveness of their corrective and preventive actions, and closed the gaps between their practices and the standards my organization required. I aligned the majority of my supplier portfolio with a demanding supplier assurance framework, initiated Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) with key component suppliers, and measurably improved supplier performance by coaching teams through their quality requirements.

That is the difference in how I work. I do not just audit a supplier and hand over a list of findings. I build the internal quality system and develop the supply chain that feeds it — because a strong QMS and a qualified supplier base are two halves of the same result.
